Valley Wedding Pages Planning Guide & Magazine

2016 Spring/Summer Magazine

Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2016 edition of Valley Wedding Pages magazine!

If you’re new to our book, we are delighted you’ve joined us. If you’re a loyal reader, we thank you for returning again to this wonderful compendium of romance and beautiful events.

Our magazine is ever-evolving, bringing fresh news of the latest trends in engagements and weddings, plus valuable information about the people and businesses that keep our industry dynamic and growing. Throughout this Spring-Summer issue, you’ll notice the novel addition of several “cover pages” (in addition to our actual front cover) carrying headlines and blurbs to direct your attention to the articles and ideas you care about most.

Also included in these must-see contents are photos and descriptions of Dr. Victoria Guerra’s fabulous wedding to Dr. William Casey (page 28) and Sandra Sepulveda’s gorgeous marriage to Xavier Canales (page 34). In new features we introduce outstanding local chefs and their favorite recipes; we spotlight two of the Valley’s premier event planners; we list Fit Body Boot Camp’s right-now toning tips; we share the Villanueva family’s legacy of constructing dream homes; we highlight some very special musicians; and we congratulate Brenda Guerra of Special Flowers Couture Florist on her tenth anniversary.

You’ll also enjoy beautiful color shots and memorable descriptions of no less than thirty-six real weddings, eight new engagement stories, and five just-married couples. We know you’ll be touched by Angela Fausey and Joseph Esperante’s personal love story--they’re the 2016 Grand Prize winners of Valley Wedding Pages’ “How I Got Engaged” contest. Moreover, our new “Mix and Mingle” section tracks a number of fun and festive get-togethers you might have missed.

Did we mention a guide to reception and guesthouse venues, or a restaurant and catering guide, or our “Twinkle in the Stars” Annual Planning Guide event? Never mind—just keep reading Valley Wedding Pages. We promise to continue keeping you informed of every lovely detail.

Happy reading!

2016 Planning Guide

Planning a wedding (even a not-so-elaborate one) involves endless details, ever-growing lists, pressing deadlines, and enough frustration and stress to make you want to run away and elope. That’s why we published this guide.

The book you’re holding, The Valley Wedding Pages Annual 2016, is your secret weapon to avoid insanity! Use it as a cheat sheet, reference, encyclopedia and workbook that spells out everything you need to know and reminds you when to get it done.

We’ve laid out the BASIC basics, like how to begin this massive undertaking, then followed that up with much, much more. This is your insider’s guide with expert advice about budgeting, venues, guest lists, invitations, catering, beverages, and entertainment. It’s your un-put-downable bible of tips about makeup and hairstyling, reception design, cake and dessert trends, flowers and décor, gowns and accessories, ceremony schedules, personalized vows, gift registries, and your all-important honeymoon. But wait—there’s still more! We’ve packed in must-have timelines, essential legal information, even directions for assembling a wedding-day emergency kit.

By all means, use the Planning Pages toward the back of this book; they’re perforated so you can easily remove them, make copies, and maintain updated notes about everything. We think you’ll find them eminently convenient and helpful!

My hardworking, energetic staff and I are delighted to present this priceless collection of inside scoops, secret clues, and lowdown information you just can’t get married without! Read it. Use it. Enjoy the time and money it will save you.

2016 Quinceañera Pages Magazine

Faithful Readers and Friends,
Words can hardly express my excitement at presenting this first volume of The Valley Quinceañera Pages, but I will try.

Since 2004 The Valley Wedding Pages has guided you in planning your special events, helped you select the best venues and vendors, informed you of changing industry trends, and showcased many happy engagements and beautiful weddings. We’ve joyfully reported your accomplishments and celebrated your achievements, embracing your spirit of love and happy endings. Now, with this Introductory Issue on a variation of our parent magazine, my wonderful staff and I are delighted to pay special tribute to our more youthful consumers—the budding girls and blossoming young women whose birthday parties have become an increasingly important part of our work.

Please join with me as we share some amazing stories of Sweet Sixteen and Quinceañera parties that were recently celebrated. Read about how the tradition came about, read how the families of these young ladies recognized their coming of age, and read about their stunning receptions.

We hope you’ll be as touched as we are by the ways these lovely girls marked their transition into young womanhood. Perhaps you’ll be inspired by their examples as you or your loved one anticipate her special birthday. With a heart full of pride, let me welcome you to part one of The Valley Quinceañera Pages!

I just wanted to voice my gratitude for your exciting wedding magazine and resources. Just like every bride-to-be, I had a vision of my Big Day; and for me, the most important details were the dress, the cake and, even more so, the photographer.
